Marry Me!

Growing up, I always admired my mother's eclectic and unique style she had about her. Not limited just to decorating but especially in terms of accessories and jewelry. Both costume and the real deal. She had this wild gold Poodle ring and his eyes were rubies. She also had a gold ring that had calla lilies sprouting up- she was wearing it out to dinner, and talking with her hands and dunked it in frosting or sauce of some sort. She quickly slurped it out of the bells of the gold lilies and continued with said conversation. Always makes me laugh thinking about that.

Moving on. I was just cruising Net-a-porter.com and came across this ring. It might be hard to see from the photos, but it wraps around the finger and says "marry me".

What a clever and inexpensive way to propose if you don't have the funds for diamonds just yet! Upgrade in the future! With that said, I honestly don't know a dude that would even find this ring or think of that idea...still cute though!

Remember This?

Remember how I HAD to have this dress?

Well, I haven't had a chance to wear it since I bought it in March until this weekend. I had a nice little dinner out at Javier's in Newport.
Please excuse the beach hair, there was nothing I could do about that. LOVE the dress, it was worth all the muss and fuss trying to get it. I actually had someone following me around to store waiting for me to put it down. :)

PS- if you ever find yourself out in Newport and need a place to dine, check out Javier's. The Lobster Enchiladas are TO DIE FOR! xo

Ingrid's Driving School

I'd like to open a driving school. Mainly to teach people to remove their head from their arse when they drive. LA drivers are the worst. The absolute worst.

Dana doesn't call me Dale for nothing.

Black Eyed Peas, Please Go Away.

I've had about enough of you. Particularly your new album. It haunts me wherever I go. The car, bars, weddings. You name it. Greg feels the same way. In fact, I bbm him when your songs come on the radio so we can have polite, educated adult conversations about our mutual disdain.

"I Got A Feeling" that you need to retreat to a desert island sometime soon. And stay there for a time out and think about what you did. You RUINED "Mazel Tov".

BUT, I liked your collaboration with JT on "Where Is The Love". Obviously.

Congratulations, Mr. Isner.

I know I just blogged about this. But wow. WOW. Hope enough people got out of their World Cup tunnel vision to recognize what has happened at Wimbledon. 11 hours and 5 minutes total. 112 aces. Shattering every sort of record. 70-68 was the final score in the fifth set. 183 total games played. 6 feet and 9 inches of a fighting American man. The Queen's first trip to The All England Club since 1977. Three days. Two darkness delays. Excited tennis fans everywhere.

Proud of you, Mr. Isner. You are one to watch. I wouldn't be mad if I saw you in the finals come July 4th.

USA!

It was a great morning for US sporting events, particularly second tier sports. Not football, baseball or basketball. Or hockey even for that matter. But sports like soccer and tennis. Well it MIGHT be for tennis. To be determined manana.

You see, John Isner who was just a small blip on my radar until he took out my beloved A-Rod in the 5th set at the Open last year set EVERY record imaginable today at Wimbledon. His match is against some French guy named Mahut (who I keep calling Manhunt) is 2 minutes shy of 10 hours. It's been called TWICE on darkness delay. It's tied at 59-59 in the fifth. Unheard of. For those of you not familiar with tennis, you play to 6 and must win by 2 in each set, and in a major like Wimbledon, tiebreakers aren't played for the 5th set, you must win by 2.

Sending love and support and ENERGY to Mr. Isner over at The All England Club, hoping he can get a big W out of this match tomorrow when they resume. Wimbledon rarely disappoints.

PS- Shout out to Jay DeMerit, Green Bay native for kicking some serious ass on defense in the World Cup game this morning. Holla!

I Suffer From Shoe Envy. Quite Often.

Khloe K. was seen sitting courtside cheering on her husband of 8 months at the NBA finals wearing the gold Swarovski Louboutins that SJP rocked in SaTC 2. In my humble/doesn't-matter-much opinion , SJP wore them better.

I get so distracted by sparkly things lately. Kind of like how boys get distracted by boobies.

Reason To Shop With Friends...

You end up buying things you might not have purchased if you were alone. Sometimes it's bad news bears (aka you head home loaded with shopping bags) and sometimes it's a pleasant surprise. Take this necklace for example:

I was with Beth and LaLa at the Grove last month and was monkeying around at the register while LaLa ordered her bridesmaid dress and scooped it out of the sale bin. The ladies persuaded me to buy it and it was a very good decision. I heart it. Purchase here while they last.

Good Luck Ingrid.

Have you ever seen a movie called Good Luck Chuck?

I am sorry if you have, it was terrible, and if you haven't, don't. I watched it on DVD with a boyfriend who was sick in bed and that's all he had to watch (that right there should have been a sign)- BUT I admittedly will see bad movies by choice from time to time. Moving on.

The premise of the movie is that once a certain girl dates Dane Cook's character, she'll then meet the man they will marry right after. And the ladies were lining up to go one dates with him once they heard about him. It seems that my last apartment took notes from that movie. My roommates all moved in with me and in turn, moved out from my apartment and in with their boyfriend/fiancee and got married. And it just so happens that they all got married 3 weeks in a row. However, no one lined up to move in with me and I moved out of that apartment last year. No mas. There was one exception to that rule but let's just call that one a fluke. :)

Good luck, Ingrid.

Cheesecurds.

The first thing on my mind when I go home is getting me some cheesecurds. Stat. Fried or fresh, they really are one of my favorite things. Ever.

My friend Ryan and I ventured up to Door County last Thursday for dinner. He knew of this little hole in the wall place right on the lake that had the best perch around. According to him at least. I asked if they had cheesecurds and upon confirmation agreed to go. We arrived, bellied up to the bar, ate pan-fried perch, fried cheesecurds and had some drinks. Also watched the bus boy from Barney's Beanery who has worked there forever-ever school Kobe at Arcade Hoops on Kimmel. Getting off track. Here is the meal that we crushed:

Also, at the cocktail hour for the Cullens' wedding they had a CHEESE table. Got me some fresh white cheddar curds to hold us over til dinner. Yum. If only California would catch on. The Busby's curds on game day just aren't the same. Can you tell I still have WisconSIN on the brain?

I'm Baaaaaaack!

15 days. Only 3 of those nights in my own bed. 9 flights. 1 big blue bridesmaid dress. 53 bobby pins for one wedding. 23 for the other. 3 friends hitched. Countless laughs. Time with friends. Cheese curds in Door County with boys. Thunderstorms. Time with family. U-Nah-Li-Ya. My nephew's hockey game. Missed connecting flights. Camp Fires. Nice man at the Delta counter who saved me from United's hell. Cabins. Champagne. Too much food. Always. Old college roommate. A sweet '38 Lincoln. Sister time. World Cup. My high school girls. My LA ladies. Heart.

I had such an amazing trip. I want to do it all over again. After I take a nap, that is. And maybe could do without the travel drama.

Dads Say the Darndest Things.

I am in between weddings right now (as you can see from my last blog post). Just finished up in Philly and had SO much fun with Dana and Pat- more on that in a bit...

So, I pretty much didn't take my wedding makeup off and my hair was so shellacked and pinned that when I slept on it (or napped as I should say) it didn't move much and didn't look awful this morning so I rolled with the punches. Well, my dad scooped me up from the 'port and the first words out of his mouth were NOT "I love you, Ing, it's soooo good to see you!". Instead, he chose to say, "Hi Ing! Wow, you look like you've been through the ringer." Hah. At least it's the sign of a good wedding, right?

Now, I must stop blogging and go get some cheese curds ASAP if not sooner!

Wedding Season!

3 VERY good friends of mine are getting married 3 weekends in a row. How crazy is that? Not to mention lucky that they didn't conflict with each other. Whew!

Katy and Ari got married last weekend- BIG love to the newlywed Schneidermans. Can't wait to squeeze them in 2 weekends.

Dana and Pat are getting married THIS weekend in Philly. Can't believe it's almost here! Going to take my BM duties seriously- main focus is not to trip walking down the aisle in the Cathedral.

Haley is marrying my dear friend Patrick's brother Danny in the North Woods of Wisconsin the weekend after that. I adore Wisconsin, it's going to be a fun wedding and pretty sure I am going to tackle Patrick when I see him, it's just what we do.

Whew. I am tired already.

Should be loads of fun and I will be sure to post some pics soon. I may be MIA from the blogosphere between now and then. Summer has barely started and I feel like it's already over and booked.

Shoe Envy.

My lady Meg got these shoes and sent me a pic post-purchase. LOVE.

Don't have the energy to blog about much right now. SUPER tired from travels. More to come soon! xo
